Gray Shakes Up Staff Again

Announces two new staffers Monday

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray is shaking up his staff again.

Gray named a new press secretary and deputy chief of staff on Monday morning, in the latest effort to settle down his troubled administration, which has been rocked with staff controversies almost since the day he took office last January.

An ongoing federal criminal investigation is looking into Gray's 2010 mayoral campaign and allegations of cash payments and offers of government jobs at the start of his term.

Gray officially named Pedro Riberio as his new director of communications. Riberio, who previously worked for Democratic Representative Zoe Lofgren of California, is replacing Linda Wharton-Boyd, who is moving to the city's Department of Health as a special assistant.

Sheila Bunn, previously chief of staff to D.C Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, is assuming the deputy chief of staff position for Mayor Gray.  She'll work alongside Chief of Staff Christopher Murphy.
