Debates Announced for Va. Republican Senate Candidates

George Allen has his sights set on the expected Democratic candidate in the Virginia Senate race. But before then, Allen will have to face off against other Republican challengers in the June 12 primary.

With that in mind, the Republican Party of Virginia has set dates for three primary debates for any candidate who has qualified for the ballot.

The debates will be held at 3 p.m. on April 28 in Roanoke; at 6:30 p.m. on May 11 in Hampton Roads; and at 6:30 p.m. on May 25 in northern Virginia. Exact locations, formats and other details are still being worked out.

Who exactly will be on the ballot? That may not be known until April 3. But the following candidates have thrown their hats into the political ring so far:

  • George Allen
  • E.W. Jackson
  • Bob Marshall
  • David McCormick
  • Jamie Radtke
