Airport Authority Setting New Rules

Washington's airports authority hopes it can repair its image with some new ethics rules.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority -- which is overseeing the Metro Silver line project -- has faced stiff scrutiny after a report detailed lavish travel spending and questionable contracts.

Today, the group hopes to make that complaint a thing of the past with new limits on what members can spend on plane tickets and meals. They're also setting new rules on disclosing conflicts of interest, so that contracts are not handed out to former board members.
