Caps' Perreault Celebrates First Hat Trick

Caps forward Mathieu Perreault recorded his first career hat trick in the team’s 5-3 win over the Bruins on Tuesday, and was rewarded with a pie to the face by the hands of Alex Ovechkin.

“This is what you dream of,” Perreault said post-game. “You dream to play in the NHL, but when you get a hat trick, it’s even better.”

In addition to the traditional pie-to-the-face celebration and an ice surface full of hats, the team also introduced a new promotion for the occasion. The Sports Bog confirmed that the Caps will be offering 20 percent off on hats at the Verizon Center team store following all future hat tricks.

Not everyone was full of adoration, however. We can always count on John Carlson for some gentle ribbing.
