One of the reasons that Ryan Zimmerman's ziMS Foundation is so important to him is because of his mother's own battle with multiple sclerosis.
In this video released by the foundation, we learn a little more about MS and get to hear directly from Zimmerman's mom, Cheryl, about what it's like to live with the disease.
There are also some thoughts by Jim Riggleman and Zimmerman himself, as well as information about what the foundation does with its donations.
"Obviously my mother having MS makes this a little near and dear to my heart," he says. "I just wanted to do something to give back."
