Robert Griffin III Documentary to Debut on ESPN Aug. 27

Robert Griffin III will not take the field for the Redskins during the preseason -- which begins with a game against the Titans Thursday at 8 p.m., a game you can see on NBC4 -- but fans will have an opportunity to see him in a never-before-seen light thanks to a new documentary.

"RGIII: The Will To Win," a film presented by Gatorade Productions, in partnership with ESPN and NFL Films that chronicles the quarterback's rookie season, will debut Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.

Dan Steinberg has more on the subject:

Filming took place over several months in multiple locations and has continued during Griffin’s second NFL training camp. The quarterback also shot some of the footage himself on a “self-cam,” which is partially why he’s listed as an executive producer for the film. Two NFL Films veterans — Steve Trout and Jay Jackson — are the co-directors of the documentary, which is presented in six “acts.”
