10 Things With Reed Doughty

We know a lot about our favorite athletes on the field. Their stats and bios are easily googled and we read about their on-field accomplishments often. But how much do we really know about them personally?

Since we’re curious, we’ve asked our favorite athletes to tell us 10 things that we don’t know about them.

Today we focus on the Redskins’ Reed Doughty (@doughty37), who, as it turns out, has quite sophisticated taste in pizza. He also has a pretty sweet story about how he spent his high school graduation money.

Take it away, Reed…

10 Things You Don’t Know About Me, By Reed Doughty

1. I love pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas and strawberry rhubarb pie in the summer.

2. I was an All-State kicker in high school and hit a couple of game winners in my career.

3. I’m not a picky eater but I can't stand olives.

4. I love anything outdoors -- flyfishing, snowshoeing, hiking...

5. I wanted to be a game warden when I was little.

6. I enjoy cooking with my wife. We do pizza fridays with the kids.  Really thin crust pizzas and we try different toppings. My favorite one was eggplant, tomato, mozzarella, olive oil, no sauce.  I also did a fig, prosciutto and arugula pizza.

7. I enjoy winter vacations. You won't catch me roasting on the beach.

8.  I love live hockey.  Caps games got me hooked.

9.  I love to read.  If I enjoy a book, I will finish it in a couple of days.  The last book I read was "The 5th Witness."

10.  I spent my high school graduation money on an engagement ring and got married at 19.
