Nationals Clinch Playoff Berth In 4-1 Win Over Dodgers

By defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 4-1 win Thursday, the Washington Nationals have clinched their first playoff berth since arriving in 2005 and the first for the Washington/Montreal franchise in 31 years.

The win guarantees the Nationals no worse than a wild card spot in the upcoming postseason. Such a spot, however, is not what Washington is looking for; the Nationals are looking to clinch the NL East, where they have a 5.5-game lead over the idle Atlanta Braves.

The win gives Washington its first postseason baseball appearance since 1933 and the first non-Capitals playoff appearance since the Wizards qualified for the NBA playoffs in 2007-08.

And not a moment too soon! Playoff tickets went on sale Friday at 10 a.m., and prices are soaring.

Also, grab your "Natitude" postseason shirts while they still mean something (you know, if they win the division or something)!
