Military Provides Incredible Puck Drop for Caps, Islanders

The Caps Saturday  road game against the Islanders began with arguably the coolest puck drop in the history of puck drops.

Staff Sgt. Matthew Zimmerman of the Air National Guard was lowered from the rafters of Nassau Coliseum to drop the ceremonial puck while suspended upside down over the ice. The display of anti-gravitational prowess was a part of the Islanders' military appreciation night, and Alex Ovechkin got an up close view of the action.

Never one to be topped, Ted Leonsis has probably reached out to the real Spiderman about a Verizon Center appearance.
