Mike Shanahan: Redskins Will Not Try Out Kickers Despite Billy Cundiff's Struggles

Washington Redskins kicker Billy Cundiff, who missed three field goals Sunday, acknowledged the fact that he might have been jobless if he missed what ultimately became the game-winning kick in Washington's 24-22 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Luckily for Cundiff, it seems that 1-for-4 isn't bad enough to cost him his roster spot. At least for the time being.

Head coach Mike Shanahan said during his press conference Monday that the Redskins do not plan on holding any tryouts for new kickers despite Cundiff's season-long struggles. So put your cleats back in the garage.

Cundiff is the NFL's least accurate kicker, having only connected on 60% of his attempts (6-for-10), though, to be fair, two of his misses are from 50 yards or more.
