The Redskins have traded picks like crazy in this year’s draft. The result? They now have a pick in every round of the draft – the first time this has happened since 1995.
With their third round pick, the Redskins took wide receiver Leonard Hankerson. Some mock drafts had the athletic receiver going in the first round. We take all mock drafts with a grain of salt, but Hankerson is a steal regardless.
So, who is this new Redskin?
Nickname: None yet
His hands are big. Really big. "His massive hands, once compared by a former coach to Godzilla's, measure 105/8 inches from the tip of his pinky to the tip of his thumb - the largest of any player at the combine this year."
He has two children, 5-year-old Leonard III and 2-year-old Kienarria.
He has his priorities straight. “I never partied. I never hung out much. I always stayed home and did what I had to do — practice, class, meetings, study hall, taking care of my children. They have to go to the doctor. They have to eat. It’s very important you do right by them.’’
He went to St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Ft. Lauderdale. Other notable NFL alumnae? Cris Carter, Michael Irvin, Tavares Gooden and Jeremy Cain are on the who’s who list.
He’ll have no problem handling the feisty Redskins beat reporters:
