During Thursday's press conference to formally announce his new five-year, $80 million extension, Wizards point guard John Wall announced that he will donate $1 million to local charities.
“My thing is, you get your deal, you make your money throughout this league, and God put you on this earth to do other things,” Wall told 106.7 The Fan’s "Lavar and Dukes" Thursday. “It’s not all about me. I’m happy I can take care of my family and my mom, and make sure things are good. But you always want to give back to the ones that’s not wealthy, you know, and make sure you help them out as much as possible.
“You need to worry about other people. That’s how you make yourself a better person as well.”
