John Calipari scored big when he got John Wall to commit to Kentucky. Thanks to the lockout, he might be headed for John Wall Part 2.
Calipari tweeted Thursday night that if the NBA lockout continues, John Wall and fellow former Kentucky players Rajon Rondo and Eric Bledsoe would be headed back to higher learning.
Wall would have to be enrolled as a full time student in order to be eligible as a “student assistant” with the basketball team. It would allow him to work out with the team and have a limited presence at practices.
Calipari gets John Wall back and his team gets three NBA mentors on campus. John Wall gets to stay in a basketball environment. The Wizards fans get to watch their star guard go back to college. Not exactly a win for everyone.
Calipari will also be coaching Wall in the upcoming Kentucky vs. Dominican Republic game on August 15.
We’re glad to see John Wall being so active during this lockout. We’d much rather see him being active in a Wizards uniform.
