Ian Desmond Shaves Goatee Between Innings

When Ian Desmond stepped to the plate for the first time Tuesday against the Phillies, he hit into a 4-6-3 double play, so before his next at-bat in the third inning, he did what anybody would do.

He shaved.

On the same day that Anthony Rendon trimmed his popular mullet, Desmond -- who was fourth in the NL Final Vote Tuesday, by the way -- shaved his goatee because it was "weighing [him] down."

Unfortunately, it did not help as he finished 1-for-4 and the Nationals lost the second game of their four-game series with the Phillies by a 4-2 count.
