Howard University Reinstates Student-Athletes

School investigated possible NCAA violations

After a week's suspension, several Howard University student-athletes have been reinstated.

The school suspended the athletes March 30 while investigating possible NCAA rules infractions

"As a result of this process, the University temporarily withheld a number of student-athletes from competition as a self-imposed action," read a statement from the school Wednesday.

The school has not said what possible violations were under investigation.

The NCAA told News4 it does not comment on current, pending or potential investigations.

Howard's women's tennis match against Navy was canceled Thursday because of the internal investigation. With the reinstatements, Howard teams will compete as scheduled for the rest of the spring season.
