Daniel Snyder Supports Roger Goodell In Statement

In a statement released Saturday morning, Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder expressed his support for embattled NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

"Roger Goodell has always had the best interests of football at heart, both on and off the field," Snyder said. "We are fortunate to have him as our Commissioner. The entire Washington Redskins organization strongly endorses his efforts to eradicate domestic abuse and his independent investigation into the Ray Rice assault."

Goodell has been a recipient of harsh public scrutiny since TMZ Sports released a second video Monday of Rice, the former Baltimore Ravens running back, striking his now-wife Janay Palmer. Goodell claimed in an interview with CBS Sports that the NFL never received the video in question, though AP reported that the NFL in fact did. ESPN later reported that Rice told Goodell that he did hit Palmer, this after Goodell also asserted that Rice was "ambiguous" in his retelling of the story.
