D.C. Street Named After NFL Hall of Famer

Part of N Street NW dubbed "Willie Wood Way"

A DC street has been renamed in honor of the NFL Hall of Famer who grew up there.

A section of N Street NW is now Willie Wood Way. It's named for the Armstrong High School graduate who went on to become a standout for the Green Bay Packers during the 1960s.

N Street NW now bears his name between First Street and New York Avenue.

The Wood family lived on that stretch of road in the 1950s.
