10 Things With Joel Ward

We know a lot about our favorite athletes on the field. Their stats and bios are easily googled and we read about their on-field accomplishments often. But how much do we really know about them personally?

Since we’re curious, we’ve asked our favorite athletes to tell us 10 things that we don’t know about them.

Today we check in with the Capitals’ Joel  Ward, who might just fall out of favor with Redskins fans.

10 Things You Don’t Know About Me, Joel Ward

1. My favorite food is West Indian food. I’m from a West Indian culture, so it’s in my blood.

2. I have a B.A. in Sociology. I wanted to become an elementary school teacher. I still might after hockey.

3. I love Fantasy Football. I’m in four leagues.

4. I will not eat onions. Even the word itself rubs me the wrong way.

5. The Baltimore Ravens are my favorite football team and I’m a huge Ray Lewis fan.

6. Bob Marley is my favorite artist. I also listen to a lot of old school hip hop to get ready for games.

7. I’m a good singer. Wait, let me change that. I’m a good shower singer.

8. I love shoes and have a lot of them. It’s one of the first things people notice when they come to my house.

9. If I had the money, I would buy an NFL team. 

10. I played professional roller hockey in Florida, which led to my first tryout with the ECHL.
