Cambodian Sandwich Shop Num Pang Serving a Batali Exclusive

What do you get when you bring together orange-clog-clad star chef Mario Batali and popular Cambodian sandwich shop Num Pang? You get the Batali Pang, a limited-time-only sandwich of sliced cotecchino sausage, balsamic pickled onions, Cacio de Roma cheese, with the traditional Num Pang accoutrements (chili mayo, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro) nestled in a perfectly toasted semolina flour baguette. Cambodiatalian sammy?! Ah, we love when cultures collide, especially if it means delicious culinary creations result from it.

This dream of a sandwich is available at all Num Pang locations until March 15. $6 from each sale ($9.75 for a sandwich) will benefit Batali's charity, Food Bank for New York City, and Num Pang owners Ratha Chaupoly and Ben Daltz's charity, The Cambodian Children's Fund.

Num Pang will be partnering with guest chefs throughout the year to bring the public a program of specialty sandwiches for a cause. Translation: it means you can get eat sandwiches while also doing good. Nom nom to that!

Num Pang is located at 21 East 12th St. and 140 East 41st St.
