Prices Plunge in Anticipation of Holiday Season

Consumers looking to save a buck this holiday season are in luck.

Several large stores including Walmart and Wegmans are slashing prices to attract shoppers.

Walmart just announced a seven week savings blitz called "Operation Main Street."

The retail giant will rollback prices on thousands of items and on Saturday, shoppers can save on electronics during a special one day sale.

Wegmans grocery stores are also slashing prices.

The price break is in anticipation of lower production and shipping costs.  Fuel prices are falling, so are prices for things like flour used in the store's bakery.  The lower prices will save the average family between $40 and $60 a month.
