The Palisade's Bambu offers excellent sushi

Cheap food that also tastes good is tough to come by these days. Bambu is an exception to this rule. Offering relatively cheap priced Asian style entrees and sushi, Bambu is a great place for lunch or dinner.

It isn’t a big restaurant and doesn’t have a spectacular ambience. The tables are very close together so you’re pretty much going to know the life story of the individuals sitting next to you. The ambience is the only downfall to the restaurant, but the food makes up for it.

For dinner, I had the crunchy shrimp roll (avocado, cucumber and tempura shrimp.) It only cost $6.50 for 6 pieces, and the rolls were definitely superior to many of the other sushi restaurants I have encountered in the D.C. area.

Other menu items include sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken or beef, and orange chicken. Prices range between $15 to $35 for dinner.

Bambu is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Location: 5101 MacArthur Blvd Northwest,
Washington, D.C. 20016
