Fashionistas and bargain shoppers, take a moment to rejoice. Then head for the Blue Line, post-haste. This weekend, the Old Town Alexandria Boutique District holds a Summer Shopping Stroll featuring exclusive discounts, special gifts with purchase and events at 20 local specialty shops.
Starting Friday, you can browse beauty products (Bellacara), fashion (Gossypia, Diva, Hysteria), home decor (Red Barn Merchantile) and lingerie (The Full Cup) for some major discounts and fun.
Saturday, stop by The Hour (1015 King St.) to kick back some mocktails, until 5 p.m. when the real cocktail hour begins.
Believe us, the deals are good. Shop for a new summer wardrobe at Treat (103 S. Saint Asaph St.), where 10-30 percent discounts are hidden inside -- wait for it -- a box of chocolates. Take a trip to consignment heaven at Mint Condition (114 S. Royal St.) to refresh with mint lemonade while scouring racks of designer discounts -- and first-time consigners will be treated to a free gift. (Love it!). Periwinkle (1557 Potomac Greens Drive) is offering sweets treats and discounts of 25-75 percent.
