A Dog-Day Afternoon

Pamper your pooch at Wagtime

These days it seems like people are taking the phrase "man's best friend" waaaay too seriously. Restaurants have created dog-friendly menus to compliment their normal human menus, there are more doggie bakeries than cupcake shops, and happy hours are now yappy hours.

As much as we wish people would snap out of this dog daze, we see no end to this trend.

And so, DC's fancy indoor/outdoor pet resort Wagtime (1232 9th St. NW) will celebrate its grand reopening this Saturday, from 4-8 p.m, DC This Week reports. Wagtime's signature services include daycare, boarding, power walking, feline care and grooming. Wait a sec -- dogs go POWER walking? Wow. We're looking kind of lazy in comparison.

The party dishes up sushi, mini-cupcakes and cocktails for humans, while pooches can pig out on doggie ice cream and root beer on the Woof Deck. And in case you were in the market for some new art, an artist will be on hand to draw a picture of your four-legged BFF.

Just don’t be surprised if this scares away all your two-legged friends.
