A Georgetown townhouse where John F. Kennedy once lived is already off the market, just a day after the listing went public on Georgetown Metropolitan. The house at 1528 31st St. N.W. is now under contract, according to a real estate listing.

It most recently belonged to Republican Whip Roy Blunt.

Kennedy lived in the house, located between P and Q Streets, from 1947 to 1949. He moved into the house -- his third D.C. residence -- after winning a seat in Congress to represent Massachusetts' 11th District.

His sister Eunice Kennedy (later Shriver) lived with him during the first year. The house was once of several in which Kennedy resided, first as a bachelor and then as a young family man as he served in the House and then the Senate.

Built in 1942, the 2,646-square-foot house was listed for $1.595 million. It has three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.

Visit Georgetown Metropolitan to see pictures of a house none of us will probably ever be able to afford.
