Affordable housing struck down in Wheaton

Supply and demand is one of the most influential factors governing prices in any kind of market. Housing prices in the D.C. area remain unaffordable for many middle-income workers and it's been this way for a couple decades. One major reason is the fact that the supply of housing has not kept up with the amount of jobs created.

In November, the Montgomery County Planning Board voted against approving 36 new townhouses adjacent to the Westfield Wheaton mall, a 10 minute walk from the Metro. More units would help the whole housing situation mentioned above.
