Northside Social: Coffee and Wine, Together at Last

Clarendon's Murky Coffee becoming Northside Social Coffee and Wine

Have you ever looked around your local Starbucks and wished, even for a minute, that they served booze? That you could magically transition from daytime coffee drinks to night-time adult beverages?

Oh, consumer of legal uppers and downers, you need to consider Clarendon’s new Northside Social (3211 Wilson Blvd., Arlington) opening, well... sometime soon. Like probably this week. Maybe. (Keep track on their Facebook page.)

Occupying the former digs of Nick Cho's Murky Coffee, Northside Social will serve up 20+ wine selections, three microbrews on tap (plus bottles), Counter Culture Coffee and organic, fair-trade Rishi teas. For those who must nosh with their beverage, the varied menu consists of "all-day" snacks such as the Crisped Pork Belly Sandwich with broccoli rabe, olio, santo, smoked mozzarella and salsa verde on an Italian feather loaf (drool), and "evening" choices like their house-made ricotta topped with olive oil, cracked pepper, sea salt and local honey on that very same Italian feather loaf.

Northside Social's baker G. David King plans to produce six to seven freshly baked bread selections daily, and a robust dessert menu includes pies, cakes and other treats offered daily as well. Plus, plans are in the works to roll out soft serve ice cream at their walk up window this spring... which is fantastic, because we don’t walk for fitness -- we walk for ice cream!

You can find updates on Northside Social, including their open date on their Facebook page. G'head, lurk.
