With the ambience of an authentic diner in Italy, great service, and even better food, Maggiano's passed my incredibly high standards. I went to Maggiano’s on a Saturday evening, and although many people were dining, there was no wait. With red and gold curtains, comfortable booth seating, dimly lit candles and quiet, spacious atmosphere I couldn’t help but feel relaxed. The entrees consist of old and new world Southern Italian foods that may seem expensive at first glance (costing anywhere from $11- $20) but the portions are enormous!

Warm french bread is served before each meal, along with olive oil. If you ask for balsamic vinegar, they will add that to the olive oil, and trust me, it makes a difference.

I ordered the lasagna with marinara sauce costing around $14. I thought that was pricey until I saw the huge brick of lasagna itself. This thing fed me for two days! The lasagna is by far my favorite item on the menu. I sampled the chicken parmesan and spaghetti with meatballs, which were also very good.

Maggiano’s offers the option of ordering a family- style meal if you are dining with four or more people. This is unique because you can sample more items from the menu. Two items are chosen from the appetizers, entrees, vegetables, and desserts. The best part is that any dish is refillable!

Whether you choose the family- style meal or individual entrees, you can’t go wrong. Maggiano’s is located across the street from the Mazza Gallerie, which will give you a great opportunity to work off that lasagna!
