Attention, everyone who has been going though Eastern Market withdrawal the past two years: The historic South Hall at Eastern Market (306 7th St. N.E.) will FINALLY reopen tomorrow.

Friday, June 25 marks the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The market will say "so long" to its temporary, greenhouse-style tent and is now back in the historic hall, which had suffered major fire damage back in 2007.

The remodeled Eastern Market will for the most part stay true to its roots, especially since the outer shell sustained little damage. One significant change: The hall is now air conditioned -- which seems like a pretty good idea to us. We mean, it doesn't seem to be sacrificing historical integrity or anything.

You might also notice the walls are a pale, pale pink. Turns out that was the original color all those years ago, but the market did get a little, you know, grimy. Expect the bathrooms, meanwhile, to be a whole lot LESS grimy. We're really liking these changes more and more!

But you didn't think the remodeled Eastern Market kick off without a party, did you? Saturday's festivities include music, face painting, food and entertainment. Spend the weekend stocking up on fresh meats, locally grown veggies, flowers and flea market finds -- all while celebrating the return of a DC landmark.

It's like a perfect little circle of perfectness. And yes, we just used "perfect" twice. Since it's a circle and all.
