Friday the 13th doesn't have to be scary if you're at the Swedish Embassy on K Street.
Especially when you're there for the 12th annual EcoFest auction to help raise money for the Hyde-Addison School. Besides basking in the beauty of the sweetly-built embassy overlooking the Potomac in Georgetown, you'll also have a chance to bid on some cool items, like a 1951 Epiphone archtop guitar with 1940s amplifier or a day sailing the Chesapeake Bay from Oxford, Md.
They're even auctioning off an ice cream cake from Thomas Sweet and a night at the W Hotel. And, according to Georgetown Metropolitan, you could win an evening with proud Hyde parent Peter Andreasson and his famous Swedish pancakes, complete with Swedish music playing in the background (also courtesy of Andreasson).
Tickets are $50 per person. The fun starts at 7 p.m. at 2900 K Street, NW.
By the way, since finding parking there could become scary, the Swedish Embassy offers some more eco-friendly alternatives on their site.
