Va. Teacher Ticks Off Rivals on “The Bachelor”

Her sister was on 'The Apprentice 3'

Ashley Elmore seems to have the perfect combination of beauty and brains. So what's she doing on "The Bachelor"?

The Fairfax County public school teacher, who's from Pittsburgh, Pa., is definitely book smart. She graduated cum laude from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Marketing Management, summa cum laude from Duquesne University with an MBA, and she's currently working on her PhD from Old Dominion University.

She also was a top 10 contender in the Miss Virginia Pageant.

But here she is, dressed in a little (short) flight attendant suit, trying to win the attention of pilot/latest "Bachelor" hottie, Jake Pavelka and setting off a major meow fest among her fellow contestants:

We know it's not easy being single in DC. Sure, there are tons of singletons living here, but half of them are 20-something congressional aides who work long, crazy hours and can't be bothered to call. Then there are the horny and usually married government types (see: Jessica Cutler/Washingtonienne) or aging baby boomers whose spouses have kicked the bucket.

Of course, Elmore, 30, is no stranger to TV fame. She won a Toyota and WJLA Channel 7 Working Woman award a few years ago.

Even her sister, corporate attorney Erin Elmore, has made it on the little screen, as a contestant on "The Apprentice 3" with The Donald.

Maybe you need to meet her in person to figure it all out. For her debut, which airs today, the bachelorette is having a premier party at 8 p.m. tonight at Bailey's in Arlington.
