Clear away the dust and polish those antique items in your home you've been dying to get appraised.

This Saturday, Dumbarton House (2715 Que St. N.W.) will be hosting a one-day-only Appraisal Day. Well-known auctioneers and appraisers, Tom and John Weschler, will be on hand from 10 a.m. - noon offering appraisals and hopefully good news to you!

The Weschler's have been in the auctioneer and appraising business in the D.C. area since 1890 and apparently know their antiques very well.

Appraisals will not be done on antiquities, books, foreign coins, stamps or firearms. Guests are limited to only two appraisals, each appraisal costing $10.  All proceeds will benefit Dumbarton House and the events they host.

Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made here, to make it even easier you can make a pre-payment online. Choose you items wisely for Saturday -- you could be walking away with two gems or two busts to be put back into storage.
