We don't want to get our hopes up just yet -- especially not when others are reporting otherwise -- but, could it be?  Could The Real World  really be coming to DC?

According to reports on Wonkette and DCist, the MTV reality show might be in the midst of spiffing up 2000 S Street, NW, in preparation -- "meters blocked off. hipsters smoking cigs in front...white vans all over." -- though there's not much solid evidence to back those claims, DCist adds.

Icon vs. icon and TheCelebrityCafe, meanwhile, say the popular show is heading to the sandy beaches of Cancun, Mexico for Season 22.

MTV has already ordered four more seasons of its veteran hit reality series -- not counting Cancun.  And so far, they've already been to: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Miami, Boston, Seattle, Hawaii, New Orleans, New York (again), Chicago, Las Vegas, Paris, San Diego, Philly, Austin, Key West, Denver, Sydney, Hollywood and Brooklyn.

So, maybe after Cancun, they'll come to DC?
