Metro will begin surveying the public for possible new Silver Line station names. Check out a preview of the possibilities.
The Metro to Dulles project, better known as the silver line is ahead of schedule. As more concrete is poured, naming the stations becomes more important.
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has given its suggested names for all eight stations leading up to the airport, but Metro wants to give the public some input.
In a survey, Metro will put forward the following possibilities:
Station One (located along Route 123, closest station to McLean, Va.):
Station Two (located closest to the Tysons Corner shopping center):
Station Three (located near the intersection of Route 7 & Route 123):
Station Four (located along Route 7 between Spring Hill Road and Tyco Road):
Station Five (located along the Dulles Toll Road near Wiehle Avenue):
Station Six (located located along the Dulles Toll Road near Reston Parkway):
Station Seven (located along the Dulles Toll Road at the existing Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride):
Station Eight (located along the Dulles Toll Road near Rock Hill Road):
